Stage 01

The Cumbrian Challenge

Lake District, England

14–15 May 2027

The opening stage of The Veterans Vertical 2027: taking on the Cumbrian fells at the Walking With The Wounded Cumbrian Challenge. A test of teamwork, resilience and shared purpose in support of the armed forces community.

Stage 02

The Fan Dance

Pen y Fan, Wales

Date to be confirmed

The second stage: a demanding military-style mountain endurance challenge around Pen y Fan. The event date and participation arrangements have not yet been confirmed.

Stage 03

The Höllental Ascent

Zugspitze, Germany

Date to be confirmed

The culmination: an ascent of Germany’s highest mountain via the Höllental (Hell Valley) route. This is a serious high-alpine undertaking involving exposed terrain, a glacier crossing and via ferrata sections. The ascent is subject to suitable conditions, alpine preparation and safety planning.

One team. Many causes.

Each participant chooses a veteran or charitable cause to support. The Veterans Vertical is a campaign, not a charity, and does not collect or hold donations. Fundraising takes place through approved external fundraising pages.
